Hadrian’s Wall – A Unesco World Heritage Site, Roman Camps, Museums & National Walking Trail.
Hadrian's Wall, World Heritage Site, The National Trail and the ancient frontier of a long forgotten empire, is an area of outstanding natural beauty. An archaeological must for everybody interested in history. Imagine thousands of roman soldiers stationed along it's length in mile castles. You can visit the roman camps of Housesteads, Vindolanda, Chesters and the Roman Army Museum to name but a few. Why not walk the Hadrian's Wall National Trail from coast to coast, with it's unique mix of heritage and landscape. Jump on the AD122 Bus, the award winning Hadrian's Wall bus service, or walk just that little bit further to the roman village of Corbridge, for quality B&B accommodation. Alternatively there is the Hadrian's Wall cycle way if you prefer to use a bike.
